- Add 1 oz. (3 caps) per gallon of water.
- Wet entire surface of the vehicle with water; wash in sections followed by rinsing with water.
- Rinse entire vessel with water to allow any remaining suds to roll off the slick surface that remains.
- Immediately dry vehicle with cotton towel, synthetic chamois or compressed air.
- For maximum gloss and protection apply Finish First® Polish!
Step 2: Prep Vehicle’s Painted Surfaces with Finish First® Finish Prep™ to Remove Oxidation and Surface Contaminates
- Wash and dry entire vehicle. We recommend using Finish First® Wash & Conditioner.
- Shake well prior to each application.
- Apply by hand with a clean cotton or micro fiber towel to a small area (approximately 1 sq. foot); mechanical action using a buffer may be used on low RPM. Tip: Two half dollar sized drops will clean approximately 1 sq. foot.
- Using light pressure apply the product in a back and forth motion (no circles).Tip: Pressure does not matter since this is not an abrasive so just massage it into the surface.
- Prior to the product drying, remove the residue with a second cotton or micro fiber towel. Tip: Finish Prep™ only works in its liquid form so do not allow it to dry or it may be more difficult to remove.
- Repeat these steps as needed to the entire vehicle; problem spots may require several application to remove the surface contaminate.
Step 3: Polish, Protect and Seal Vehicle’s Painted Surfaces with Finish First® Polish
- Surface should be cool to the touch before applying Finish First® DO NOT apply to porous surfaces such as vinyl, rubber, fabrics, etc.
- Shake well prior to each application.
- Apply approximately 2 drops (size of a dime) to clean cotton cloth or foam applicator pad; this will cover about 1 sq. ft. area. Apply to vehicle evenly with a straight back and forth motion (no circles). Note: On older cars and trucks some oxidized paint may appear on the applicator; this is normal, but change clothes as they become soiled to avoid rubbing the lifted oxidation/grime into the finish.
- Finish First® Polish should dry to a haze; allow a minimum of a 15 – minute dry time to allow for proper curing/bonding. For ultimate results increase the curing time to maximize shine and protection (Do not worry it will not harden like a wax).
- Remove Finish First® Polish by wiping the surface clean with a clean cotton cloth.
- An initial two-coat application is recommended with at least a 60 minutes between coats to allow for proper curing. Additional coats will bond to the previous coat and aid in filling swirl marks and provide a deeper gloss and protection.
Step 4: Clean Interior Seats and Upholstery with Finish First® MPC 421™ (Multi-purpose Cleaner)
- Shake well prior to each application.
- If possible, do not apply to hot surfaces; this will promote excess evaporation, which could adversely affect product performance.
- MPC 421™ may be diluted 1:5 with water for maintenance cleaning or at full strength for jobs that require heavy lifting.
- For use on cloth, carpet, convertible tops and upholstery; mist MPC 421™ on pre-dampened surface. Work into target area with brush or cloth. Rinse clean by blotting with a wet towel and allow to dry.
Step 5: Protect and Interior Seats and Dashboard with Finish First® LVR Protectant™
- Shake well prior to each application.
- Clean surface to be treated if heavily soiled or stained; we recommend using Finish First® MPC 421™.
- Apply evenly by misting directly onto the surface or into a clean cloth.
- Allow LVR Protectant™ to briefly penetrate the surface prior to buffing lightly for maximum gloss and protection.
Step 6: Clean Windows with Finish First® Window Finish™
- If heavily soiled, we recommend using Finish First® Wash & Conditioner to clean the windows.
- The surface to be cleaned should be cool to the touch, if possible.
- Apply the Window Finish™ by misting on small areas; wipe off with a 100% cotton towel.
- Just before the window or mirror dries completely use a second towel to buff the surface leaving surface so clear it will pop!
Step 7: Clean and Protect Chrome and Rims with Finish First® Metal Polish and Finish First® Metal Protector
7a. Finish First® Metal Polish
- Shake well prior to each application. Make sure surface is cool to the touch.
- Add a small amount to metal surface using a cotton/microfiber towel. Massage the crème into the surface; pressure is not needed. This allows the emulsifiers in the Metal Polish to dissolve the stained/oxidized areas. Mechanical action can be used, but is not required. Tip: Do not allow this product to dry.
- After applying, buff with a clean cotton cloth to a brilliant shine.
- Repeat as necessary
- To maintain and enhance the surface, we recommend using Finish First® Metal Protector.
7b. Finish First® Metal Protector
- Shake well prior to each application.
- The surface to be cleaned should be cool to the touch, if possible.
- Apply approximately 1 drops (size of a dime) to clean cotton cloth or foam applicator pad. This will cover about a 6 inch area. Apply to evenly with a straight back and forth motion (no circles).
- Finish First® Metal Protector should dry to a haze; allow a minimum of a 1 hour dry time to allow for proper curing/bonding.
- Remove by wiping the surface clean with a clean cotton cloth.
- Repeat the steps to build coats to maximize the durability and gloss.
Step 8: For Quick Cleanups for that “Just Polished Look” Use Finish First® Finish Fast™
- Shake well prior to each application.
- Clean surface to be treated if heavily soiled
- Surface should be dry.
- Apply evenly by misting Finish Fast™ directly onto the surface covering an approximate two square foot area.
- For best results, use two clean dry towels; first wipe treated area dry with one towel and then use the second to buff the surface to a brilliant shine.
